I just came back from Chelsea Bicycles after getting some major new gear (so poor now!), and while I was there, I picked up this beauty — a 2008 New York City Cycling Map!
The 2008 NYC Cycling Map comes in the same way a MTA Subway map does (meaning, it’s folded the same and it folds out to the same size). The map has everything! It shows you where the bike paths are, which areas are bicycle friendly, where to park your bike (for money and for free), where bicycle shops are, where you can get air, what to watch out for in terms of road conditions and construction and other hazards, and generally how to get from point A to point B in the fastest way possible. In a word, this map is a BEAST.
If you’re a cyclist of any sort, you must pick up this map and have a look at it. It’s completely free and you can get it at just about any bike shop in NYC.
You can download the PDF version of the map here in its entirety. And even though the website says 2007, the map you end up downloading is actually the most current 2008 version. The wealth of information on this map is sure to make your cycling experience in and around the city a much more enjoyable one!
PICK ONE UP. YOU’LL THANK YOURSELF FOR IT.
