AppZapper will remove the little files during uninstallation

I already knew that uninstalling a program on the Mac OS was a simple affair. Generally speaking, all one has to do is drag the program out of the applications folder and the program is “uninstalled”. Well, sorta.

Sure, once that’s done, the program is uninstalled and cannot be run again, but there are little files that some programs write to your computer that do not get removed when you drag that program to the rubbish. These files usually store preferences or some sort of data to help the program run. But once you uninstall, these files and directories are no longer used and they are simply left where they are on your computer. As you can imagine, over time this leads to quite a bit of crap data on your computer.

AppZapper is a program that aims to remove those pesky little files along with the program. It’s hailed as the application removal program that Apple never included in Mac OS but should have. Think of it as the Add/Remove Programs application (from Windows) but on the Mac. It works in much the same way.
