Monopoly Here & Now: The World Edition (New York City is red)

The new Monopoly World Edition comes out tomorrow and Hasbro is trying to make history by enticing fans to go out and buy the game tomorrow.

The new World Edition features properties named after famous global locations. The spaces that each of the places sits on was voted upon by users via an online contest started way back in January 2008. The top spot on the board (normally “Boardwalk”) is taken by Montreal, Canada.

The World Edition game features quite a bit of refinements from the traditional Monopoly board game. Most notable is the change from paper money to electronic “M” currency. The player pieces are also changed to a variety of different items as well as the usual houses and hotels.

I tried to find a picture of the actual board, but the only one I could find that was halfway decent was from City Room.
