Lance Armstrong to compete in Tour de France in 2009

On his website and through an exclusive interview with Vanity Fair, 7-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong confirmed widespread speculation that he will in fact un-retire and return to professional cycling in 2009 to compete in the Tour de France.

For Lance, the return to the sport is a way for him to raise awareness of the cancer burden that many people face around the world. He will go into the 2009 Tour de France at age 37.
