Many people think of New York City as a big dirty city, and often times, people associate the tap water as being the same. But in reality, New York City tap water is one of the best — if not the best — tasting tap water in the country.
With this in mind, a company by the name of Tap’dNY is promoting a line of bottled water that is essentially New York City tap water. There’s no BS here. The company even tells you right on the label that it’s purified tap water. The water is run through a process called “reverse osmosis” that’s pretty much the same as putting the water through a BRITA filter.
But anybody who has lived in New York City long enough knows that New York City tap water is safe and good to drink. There’s no weird taste (unless your building’s pipes are really old) because it’s piped into the city direct from the source upstate.
The company encourages people to drink tap water, and if they must buy bottled water, to buy Tap’dNY bottled water because it’s a tiny bit more environmentally friendly (despite still being in a plastic bottle). They claim that the water is bottled locally and that this saves on transportation costs and pollution.
I can see why a lot of critics are against such an idea, but I’m drawn to the fact that this might just end up being a profitable business, and that alone sparks my curiosity in the brand. I’m hoping to pick one up soon at a local distributor just so I can have the great looking bottle.
I saw a guy shooting like an ad or a promo or something at a hotdog vendor near FIT that day that you went to the bank for this water. I completely forgot, I wanted to ask you if you know what it was haha
