Police set up bike decoy to see who will come and steal it

This is satisfying to watch, but I think it’s kind of wrong of the cops to leave a bike unattended like that without locking it up (they could have used a crap lock). But I dunno, I’m biased against any person trying to steal a bike, so seeing these guys get caught on camera is great.

yeah, i think it just a little messed up to bait them like that. i wouldn’t even call this guy a bike thief. he’s a thief…but more of an opportunist who happened to see a bike that was stupidly left unattended. put a crap lock on the bike in the middle of a populated area and they’d have a real bike thief trap.
