As of tonight, I am officially a member of Netflix. I hear good and bad things about the service, so I’m hoping the first 2 weeks are good enough to keep me on board. For $16.99, unlimited DVD rentals with no late fees sounds pretty satisfying.
I’ve heard rumors that Netflix throttles DVD releases to those who really make use of the “unlimited” factor of the service. And since I plan on really packing in my DVD rentals, I’m hoping that this throttling issue is not true. This is almost as good as VideoEzy in Australia…
Here’s a quick look at what I hope to get in the mail this month.

Hate to tell you but the throttling does exist. For me, new releases takes about a month to get but you shouldn’t experience it during the free-trial period. Haha
Really? Throttling?
Hmm. I had been considering switching to Netflix, as I had heard nothing but good things about it over the internet.
For now, my allegiances lie with Blockbuster. For ten bucks a month, I get 4 DVDs. (Two mail-to-me, two trade-in-store).
I’ve found the in-store trading very useful for last-minute DVD runs. You might wanna try it out sometime.
