Facebook Executive portraits: Worst backdrop ever?

October 7, 2008 @ 2:06 am

Ok, who in the world decided upon the backdrop that’s behind every single one of the Facebook Executive portraits? It’s the ugliest, most distracting thing I’ve ever seen in a portrait. It’s like somebody came in and just went crazy with the spray paint. I’m not so sure that this makes me think highly of Facebook and the people running the company.

i remember reading in some article about how they had a graffiti artist do murals in their palo alto office..

The background is out of focus, from the shallow focus of the people of each portrait shot, thus the background doesnt even stand out that much. If you are concentrating so much on the background, you are defeating the purpose behind a portrait shot. Also if you didnt jump to judging it so quickly, you would notice that each person’s comlexion/skin tone and clothing wasnt lost in the ‘uglist, most distracting’ background. Have you seen the entire piece by david choe? and you would base your perception about the people who ran a networking company on the background they chose for their portrait shots? Only if it was a pile of dying/dead babies in the background then you could judge them, but spray paint art? Its not even a tag. What…you would rather it to be boring, plain ol standard one solid colored background? Maybe the facebook team wanted people to think of them as modern, diverse, complex, imaginative, and colorful?

I may be biased because I am a david choe fan, and I should assume you made your opinion before looking at David Choe’s artwork and thus forgive you for your ignorance, but fuck you none the less.

You’re wasting your time here. This post is old and people don’t give a shit.

      • Jensen says:

if people dont give a shit, whyd you take the time to respond? Old or new, your opinion/post hasnt changed so thats why I voiced mine. And if you count yourself as a person, and with your logic of ‘people don’t give a shit’, every response you have to my post is a contradiction. Come out a winner by not responding and ignoring me.

And if im wasting your time, and or making you contradict yourself, and or angering you, and or annoying you, then I dont consider it a waste of my time. Judge me.
