Rick Astley in YouTube Super-HD

2008 October 8

Some genius has split Rick Astley’s music video for “Whenever You Need Somebody” into 4 equal square sections and uploaded the separate videos to YouTube. Then they put up a page with all 4 YouTube videos showing at once (like a wall of TVs) so that you can watch the video 4 times larger with much less degradation in video quality.

For the site to work, you have to first load all 4 videos on their own. Once you’ve done that, you can use the Play, Pause, and Restart links at the top to control all 4 videos. It’s pretty neat when you first see all 4 videos in sync with the music.

Anyway, it’s note quite like real HD video, but this will do.
