This Side Up by Michael Kai

Do you notice anything awkward about the image above? Doesn’t it look rights-side-up and upside-down all at the same time? That’s the trickery behind some of Michael Kai’s exhibition work which you can see on his website. He seems to mix in the effect of M.C. Escher’s drawings with his photographic manipulations to create a very surreal scene that deserves a double-take.
Here’s one more example of his work showing two tennis players right-side-up on an upside-down court. Blows your mind, doesn’t it?
