There’s a new coffee place called Esparks Coffee across from FIT’s main campus building on 27th Street (between 7th and 8th Avenues). At a quick glance, the venue looks very much like any Starbucks because of the similar lighting fixtures and the big capital letters reminiscent of the Starbucks logo typeface.
Anyway, I passed by it on my way home last night and it was already closed so I couldn’t go inside to get a cup of coffee, but the place looks comfortable I guess. Unfortunately for the company, at least one person thinks the coffee is stronger than Starbucks, saying that it “out-Starbucks Starbucks“. That’s harsh. Haha.
Also note the Parks Berry sign at the front. I don’t know what that is exactly, but I assume from the posters in the window that it’s another copy-cat frozen yogurt joint. Lame name.

weren’t you there when we rode our bikes to queens that one time? we went to the esparks in woodside.
oh yeah, i remember going to a coffee place, but i dont remember what place it was.
Yeah there’s an Esparks in Elmhurst that I’ve gone to on Broadway across from the hospital. I’m not a big coffee drinker, but I did have a Parksberry yogurt. It’s alright. The cool part is that they have those flavored powders for the coffee and I put a boatload on my yogurt. It was different and tasted decent enough.

doesn’t that sound a little morning glory-ish?
As of today, December 9, 2008, it’s closed…
