One of my favorite writers of all time, Michael Crichton, passed away yesterday (November 4, 2008) after battling cancer. He was 66-years-old.

He was the brains behind such novels as Jurassic Park, The Lost World, Sphere, and Timeline which all later became big Hollywood films. I remember reading his books while I was out of a job and it was his writings that kept my mind entertained for many years. It is certainly sad that his final book will never be finished.

His personal website is down at the moment as fans and press scour the page for information.
