I had no idea that drinking simple liquids in space was such a big ordeal. Apparently most liquids need to be consumed through a straw because otherwise it just floats and goes nowhere due to the lack of gravity. The video above mentions the precise formulaic equation for constructing the proper drinking cup that will wick the liquid into your mouth, but it’s way over my head to understand. I just really like how this video shows the adaptations that astronauts need to make to do even the simplest of things we take for granted on earth (like drinking from a cup). [via]
