If you’re a fan of the NYC MTA Subway system, then you might just fall in love with this online archive of subway maps that date all the way back to 1924. The gallery has images of just about every single cover of the subway map that has ever been released, including the maps for “customers with disabilities”.

Have a look at the Subway maps from the 1950′s. They are so graphic and simple!

If you click on some of the covers, some of them have scans of the inside portion of the map too, so you can compare how it looked in the past with what it looks like now.

Of course, another great resource for historical Subway maps would be Subway.org’s collection of scanned maps dating back to the late 1880′s. Check those out too because they are just lovely (the 80′s-modern maps are stupid though).
