I used to own a black Casio Databank watch when I was in elementary school. I thought it was pretty cool to be able to store my friends’ phone numbers in something that fits on my wrist. Plus, the thing had Illuminator backlight and that was all the rage. I just couldn’t stop pressing the thing, which probably meant that I probably diminished its battery life by half or something.
I don’t remember wearing that watch for very long (I don’t know why). But my memories of it are very short. I just remember pressing that big LIGHT button (as seen in this DBC150 version that I think I had) all the time.
Anyway, Casio recently reintroduced the Databank watch in several limited-edition colors. TheĀ DBC32 series of Databank watches are the ones getting the makeover and other than that, everything else about the watches are the same (meaning, they do what Databanks are meant to do and nothing more). It’s odd that the original black color would be more expensive than the limited-edition ones, at least according to Casio’s suggested retail price. They’re nice I guess, but are they come-back nice? We’ll see.

It is amazing how a little bit of color can change the entire feel of the watch. I love the new colors and I think the watches will appeal to more people simply for that reason alone.
