Third Eye Blind haven’t released an album since 2003 (their “A Collection” album doesn’t count because nothing was new there), but the band is hoping to take over the radiowaves once again in 2009 with a completely new batch of songs under an album entitled “Ursa Major”.
Until that major album release gets out, the band has been hard at work getting people excited for their upcoming comeback. Recently the band put out the “Red Star EP”, a 3-song disc that includes the songs “Red Star”, “Non-Dairy Creamer”, and a live version of “Why Can’t You Be”.
In all honesty, this “Red Star EP” really isn’t doing it for me. You can hear the entire EP on the band’s Myspace page and after giving the tracks a couple of plays, I can’t say that I’m pumped to hear new music from this band. I mean, for all I know these could be very un-radio-friendly tracks and the actual full album could be very different from this sneak peak. Regardless, I’d like to see how their music has changed in the last 6 years. I think that in itself will be exciting to compare and listen to.

I don’t know…..that song Non-Dairy Creamer is really good. I would listen to more songs like it.
