Ok, so Microsoft Research has created a piece of computer software that will automatically create a song for you based on your voice. The software, called Songsmith, is essentially every single terrible aspect of the music industry rolled into one application. You want to create a happy song or a jazzy tune? Just adjust the sliders and Songsmith with fill in the musical parts for you. All you have to do is sing.

In my opinion, this is a terrible application. But even more shocking than the app is the promo video above for Songsmith which effectively trashes any inkling of ‘cool’ that this software could have even had. Good job there.
