This past October, PUMA entered into the Volvo Ocean Race, a 10-leg ocean race that lasts until June 2009 and literally takes its contestants around the world. To get the PUMA team into gear, PUMA asked their Ocean Racing team for input on what would make the best jacket for the seas. The result is this Offshore Jacket in high-visibility orange, perfect for being spotted in the open seas and protecting the human body from all the elements thrown at them by mother nature.
The PUMA Offshore Jacket features a 3-layer GORE-TEX shell with inner lining that provides moisture management as well as breathability, insulation, and weather protection (taped seams, double cuff system, waterproof 2-way zippers). In a sense, you’re pretty set if you own this jacket.
No word on how much it costs, but expect to pay a premium for such comfort. PUMA is said to be releasing this item in select retailers starting January 24th. Check out Classic Kicks (NYC), Training Camp (NYC), UBIQ (Philly), Commonwealth (DC) and BDGA (Boston) if you want to see this jacket in person.
