Bicycle rollers

Living in New York City is pretty darn convenient if you have a bike. You don’t have to rely on mass transit or cars or taxis and you can usually get to where you need to be in a quicker amount of time anyway. The only downside [sometimes] is that you really have to be on your toes and alert, avoiding obstacles, preventing an accident to you and to others, and being careful not to run pedestrians over.

So to curb those fantasies of days where you can just ride straight for hours on end without having a worry in the world, one would need to get a bike roller system. Bike rollers are sort of like stationary bikes that use your own bicycle as the thing you ride on. Rollers allow you to ride in place at whatever pace and speed you want. It’s generally used for warm-ups and such, but who says you can’t just use one just to be able to ride in a straight line inside? Nobody. That’s why I’d love to get a bike roller — so I can ride in my apartment, whenever I want at whatever speed I want and not have to worry about killing myself or others around me.

Get ‘em, they’re awesome. I’ve been riding mine since mid-November to laugh in the face of the stupid NY weather (I actually have the e-motion ones in the first video). They’re a bit hairy at first, but put a tv in front of you and you can hammer away the winter miles.
