Sam sent me this weird set of pictures from the Gwinnett Daily Post of a couple getting wed inside a Waffle House.
For those who don’t know, Waffle House is a chain of restaurants mostly located on the Southeastern coast of the US that is a staple of highway diets (many of them are located along I-95). The couple shown here are George “Bubba” Mathis and Pamela Christian who have been trying to wed for quite a while before settling on Waffle House because it was “different” and it fit in with their schedule. Man, talk about settling!
The wedding was described by the Gwinnett Daily post as “Loud and proud – country music, storytelling and plenty of Dale Earnhardt paraphernalia – and not an iota of pretentiousness”, which I guess is exactly how I imagined this kind of wedding to be.
