‘Marriage of Figaro’ played on the guitar

February 6, 2009 @ 11:39 pm

Over 1000 cuts. 6 hours of guitar tabbing. 1 hour of shooting. God knows how much editing.

That’s the description Joe Penna put on his highly edited video of him playing Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro on the guitar. Many of the cuts in this video are only a fraction of a second long, but together they make up the musical melodies of this grand song very well. It really reminds me of that stop-motion drums and piano video because it’s sort of edited in the same fashion.

If you’re wondering what the original song sounds like, Wikipedia has got it streaming on their site.

Thanks for this awesome video, Simon!
