Bolt Bus to Boston

I just bought a round-trip ticket on the Bolt Bus to Boston this weekend. The Bolt Bus is a slightly more expensive version of the “cheap Chinatown buses” going to and from New York City to Boston (and some other cities). The main difference being that the Bolt Bus is generally considered the “luxury” version of these buses because it offers free wifi and power outlets.

I’ve never been on the Bolt Bus so I hope all of the hype stands true (especially the one outlet per seat claim). Anyway, here’s to hoping that my tickets were worth the extra few bucks! I’m leaving on Friday morning!

A few weeks ago I did that exact trip to Boston via Bolt Bus…it’s definitely better than the chinatown bus. Not as good as the DC2NY bus but they dont go to Boston. Occasionally the internet goes out but they have sockets at EVERY SEAT!! BOLT! And the leg room is like no other!

megabus is supposedly the same. i took it all the time from Oxford to London and it was pretty great. doubledecker, comfy, and usually had some $1 fares! but let me know how Bolt is. i swore never to take chinatown buses ever again.

The Bolt Bus is the new kid on the block in the bus wars. Megabus has been around for a little while, but they started in the Midwest, and are just getting started on the East Coast. There are more and more non-Chinatown lines entering the fray, which IMHO is a good thing. You can search for tickets at http://www.busjunction.com, it’s a bus ticket search engine.
