The NYPD reminds itself that it is not illegal to take pictures in New York City

The NYPD is issuing a notice to all police officers to remind them that it is not illegal for people to take pictures of just about anything in New York City.

Finally, the city recognizes the fact that even if you were a terrorist, having pictures of places will not help you plan a better attack on the city.

One Response to The NYPD reminds itself that it is not illegal to take pictures in New York City

Ohhh my gosh, a couple of weeks ago, my poetry workshop class did a project that involved taking pictures at Grand Central, and my partner and I got apprehended by this big, burly police officer who was apparently sketched out that a skinny asian girl and a 5’1″ redhead were taking pictures…….in a TOURIST SPOT, SURROUNDED BY LEGIT TOURISTS. Even when we explained that the pictures were for a class project that wouldn’t be published, they were annoyed. Geez. It’s GRAND CENTRAL, and we’re students doing a creative writing exercise. That was definitely in my top 5 most retarded NYC experiences ever.
