This entire music video is like a dance and outfit mashup of Janet Jackson and Britney Spears. And wow, I really hope the auto-tune craze dies real soon. Blech.

I’m inexplicably drawn to BoA – maybe it’s because she’s only a week older than me, or maybe it’s because she’s so cute in interviews without being cutesy-annoying (like Girls Generation or all those other mega kpop group members). Still, her live singing in English sounds pretty horrible, and color me a traitor to my kind, but I think that Asian accents sound really awkward in English songs. It’s just like when Avril Lavigne sang “Girlfriend” in Mandarin – MUY HORIBLE (or as Mandarin speakers would say, “HAO NAN TING”…) So perhaps in this case, the auto-tune is a convenient, trendy means of making BoA sound less … fobby.
i would add Aaliyah to the mash-up list
it’s catchy. but the video sucks
