Movie Review: The Day The Earth Stood Still

The Day The Earth Stood Still is a remake of a 1951 science fiction film classic. If you don’t know or haven’t watched the original film, it’s hard to get a grasp of what the movie is actually about from the teaser and trailer, so I’ll just sum it up for you now.

Keanu Reeves plays an alien who comes to Earth with a big metallic robot that can turn itself into self-replicating nano-robots. The alien’s purpose is to save to Earth from the environmental destruction that humans have caused it by getting rid of all the humans (killing them…somehow). Oh, and there’s an annoying kid in the movie.

If the annoying kid doesn’t mess the movie up for you, then the story (which progresses unrealistically quick) will.

Don’t even bother renting this. Just download it and save yourself the time and money.

Man I am glad someone else found that kid in The Day the Earth Stood Still so incredibly annoying. The movie in itself was entertaining enough for a Sunday afternoon filled with rain. But that kid ruined almost every scene. Man! Annoying I don’t care if the kid is born of two great actors.
