I don’t particularly like westerns, but 3:10 To Yuma certainly changed my mind about that. The film stars Christian Bale (playing Dan Evans) who has to help deliver a notorious criminal named Ben Wade (played by Russell Crowe) to a prison train at a town called Contention. The movie revolves around the fact that Ben Wade is a very persuasive personality and throughout the film he tries to convince his captors that they are better off letting him go because Wade’s gang is in pursuit of them.
The film is equally as frightening as it is exciting to watch since it involves a lot of gun fights and chase scenes on horses. It doens’t sound as cool as car chases and explosions, but I assure you it is. I kept wondering why this film had such high ratings everywhere I looked and now I understand why. It’s simply a great flick to put on.
Sounds like a western version of 16 blocks :)
I’m a huge Russell Crowe fan, and this has been my favorite Crowe movie to date. He’s not only fantastic in the role, but he and Christian Bale are very good together.
Yeah, they had good chemistry in this film.
