magCulture looks at the new Newsweek redesign

newsweek-redesign

magCulture takes a slightly more in-depth look at the new Newsweek magazine design and comes to the conclusion that it is simply messy and unfocused. I previously said that I thought the cover itself was great, but after seeing these images of the inside pages, I’m gonna have to agree with magCulture here. The play on words and titles really doesn’t go well with Newsweek and the awkward text spacing is confusing to say the least.

In other Newsweek news, it looks as if though Newsweek is continuing their BIG TYPE OVER A BIG FACE cover motif in the next upcoming issue which features Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. I’ll have to actually pick up a copy to see what the inside is like.

This week’s cover isn’t nearly as cool as last week’s.
