Baked By Melissa serves bite-sized cupcakes in SoHo

Jenny showed me this wonderful cupcake snack shop on Spring Street between Mercer and Broadway today called Baked By Melissa. The place is literally a hole in the wall with an order/pick-up window and nothing more (think of it like a cupcake truck…without the truck).

Anyway, Baked By Melissa specializes in teeny tiny cupcakes that are about the size of a bottle cap (maybe slightly bigger). They’re highly addictive and delicious, so you have to watch out because one person can easily finish a box of 12.

Prices are high for the amount of cupcake you’re actually getting, but it’s good nonetheless. Just be prepared to be broke if you intend to eat some everyday.

I’m staring at an empty Baked by Melissa box as I type right now. It was yummy. Had my first taste on Memorial day last week as some friends and I were walking around/through SoHo and on the way to Lombardi’s for lunch. Mmm.. I think it’s because you can just pop them into your mouth and experience the whole cupcake at once instead of trying to take bites with just the right proportions of icing and cake at the same time. haha
