Over the years, I’ve amassed quite a collection of Bicycle Playing Cards from the U.S. Playing Card Company. I don’t even play cards that often, but there’s something about playing card deck designs that captivate me and make me want to collect them. So whenever I see an interesting deck, I buy it and I justify the purchase by telling myself that it’s not exactly an expensive impulse buy, so it’s ok.
Anyway, here’s the Eco Edition deck from the U.S. Playing Card Company. It comes in a nice raw cardboard box holder with a note on the side saying that their playing cards are made from sustainable frest paper, starch-based laminating glue, and vegetable-based printing inks. On top of that, they say that the entire deck is recyclable. I’m assuming that they do this for all of their decks, but the Eco Edition is just an opportunity to brand their decks as “green”, as seen in the images below (the standard red suits are replaced by green suits).
