
Washington, D.C. photographer Stephen Voss was in Detroit earlier this year and captured some disturbing images of abandoned school buildings in the ailing city. Lots of discarded books, peeling paint, and overall destruction in the photos. Fascinating but sad at the same time.
A few months ago there was a scandal about some closed schools that were boarded up “as is,” full of student records, computers, supplies (in a time when the school district couldn’t pay their vendors).
