Andy Freeberg has a funny series of photos called “Sentry” which show the people behind art gallery desks in Chelsea galleries here in New York City. I’ve been to plenty of galleries in Chelsea and I can testify that many of these galleries are exactly as Andy has depicted them — nothing but tops of heads from behind big white desks. It’s funny and also a bit sad that human interaction is so limited at art galleries.
