Peluca: a short film by Jared Hess (creator of Napoleon Dynamite)

Created in 2003 by Jared Hess while he was a student at Brigham Young University, Peluca is a short film that later would blossom into the full-length feature film Napoleon Dynamite. Shot with a budget of $500 over 2 days, Jared Hess’ Peluca contains the same humor and film shots seen in Napoleon Dynamite.

According to some, this short shows up in the special features section on some Napoleon Dynamite DVD’s. I can’t confirm this however as my Napoleon Dynamite DVD does not include this featurette.

I don’t think it’s featured as an extra on the Napoleon Dynamite DVD, at least it’s not on the copy I’ve got. However I know for sure it’s featured on a Slamdance Film Festival DVD from 2004 called “The Dirty Dozen V: Tales Of Eccentricity.”
