Turn a Mason jar into a mousetrap

Box Vox posts a interesting patent application diagram that shows how to turn a Mason jar into a clever mousetrap. The trap consists of a modified Mason jar lid with sharp nails pointing inwards. This allows a mouse to go into the jar without getting hurt but prevents the mouse from leaving the jar without tearing into its body. This is actually very cool and I sort of want to build and test this out for myself.

The pan and scan method (which allows for widescreen formats on full screen) ends up changing the director’s view of the film dramatically. Sometimes, the changes are so much that the full screen version ends up being a completely different film based on what you can see on screen at once. [via]
Marvel Entertainment bought by The Walt Disney Company

I woke up this morning to find out that Marvel Entertainment had been bought by The Walt Disney Company for approximately $4 billion. I’ve been reading various news articles about what this could mean for Marvel and Disney and some analysts are saying that Pixar might be interested in making a movie with Marvel characters.
I highly doubt it given Pixar’s original story-telling history, but hey, I guess it could happen.
