Maybe it’s another example of me following my gut instinct at first glance, or maybe it’s just coincidence, but when I first saw the widely spread Pepsi vs Coca-Cola logo chart making the rounds on the internet, I decided not to post it because I had an inkling that it was spreading false information. I didn’t really bother to research it further however because honestly it wasn’t of much interest to me (and it wasn’t really swaying any particular decisions about my beverage company of choice).
But thankfully, Brand New did do some research and presents a more accurate representation of the logo changes between Pepsi and Coca-Cola in the image above and shows definitively that both companies had their string of poor company logos. So there you have it folks, the many versions of the Pepsi AND Coca-Cola logo.
it surprises me that people didnt figure this out right away and started to share it. Coke 2 was prevalent in every supermarket in the 80′s at the very least. then ‘classic’ was added subsequently to the logo after that venture failed.
Yeah, I didn’t have a concrete example in my mind, but as soon as I saw that original graphic I knew it was wrong.
why is Coke Spelled differently than Coca cola i never could figure this out. I guess coca or coce just doesnt make much sense.
Why do you say “poor” company logos? They were all fine for their time and served the companies very well.
Actually you morons (author included) if you actually look at the Coca-cola logo it really HAS NOT changed much. The script is the in almost ALL of them as well as the color. Pepsi on the other hand went from script to print to bottle cap. I guess it would actually help to look up the ‘official company logos’ because if you look hard enough you can find Coke and Pepsi plastered a dozen different ways depending on whether you buy it out of a fountain or a machine.
