As I mentioned yesterday, Mute Math’s sophomore album, Armistice, has been leaked ahead of its release date. I’m a big fan so I had a hard time resisting the temptation to listen to it early, and finally I gave in and I literally haven’t listened to any other album since.

The album starts off with one of their latest singles “Nerve” which I found to be one of the least interesting tracks on the entire album. Thankfully, it’s the first track so it gets better quickly and stays that way until the last track. The album is a good mix of fast and slow-paced songs that tend to balance each other out quite well. Overall, I’m really satisfied with this release and now more than ever I cannot wait to go and see Mute Math in concert once again. I’m ready to watch the best live act I’ve ever seen perform new material and simply rock out on stage.

Here are my favorite tracks: Backfire, Pins and Needles, Goodbye, Electrify, Lost Year, and Clockwork.
For those who don’t know, Armistice will be released on August 18, 2009.

aren’t you hurting the band by promoting the illegal distribution of the band’s album? or do they silently support this so that they can get more popular via viral marketing?

John: It’s called “word of mouth.”

Warner Japan released it a little earlier because of Mute Math’s appearance at some Japanese festivals this weekend.
