New York, I Love You is an upcoming film composed of 11 shorter films all dealing with the theme of love in New York City. It stars an incredible cast of Hollywood’s best actors and actresses (see poster for all the names…I’m not going to type them out) along with an equally impressive list of directors.
It comes out in theaters October 16th and I have a feeling that it’s going to be one of the better films I watch this year. Watch the trailer below.
While I agree this movie looks good – and I’m impressed with all the talented people they have involved… something is bothering me…
I noticed it first with that OTHER movie about inter-mingling love stories (He’s Just Not That Into You)… and now I’m having a similar feeling…
aside from ONE Black (possibly black-hispanic or possibly black-american) and ONE asian girl… this is a movie about NYC and love and featuring mostly all white people/couples… how one-dimensional…
I hate when movies/TV portray NYC as this ultra-white city… throwing in some asians or one black/latin character for “flavor” — of course it seems the black guy is dating a non-black woman…
Not sure if any other New Yorker’s know this – but there are MANY MANY MANY people of color in this city (not just blacks, but hispanics of all color, middle-eastern, asians such as pakistanis, indians etc etc)…
apprently hollywood thinks people of color don’t have substantial or relevant love stories/relationships…
one more thing… the gay characters in He’s Just Not That Into You were relegated to the comedic sidekick roles for Drew Barrymore…
apprently gays are another group hollywood doesnt think have substantial or meaningful love stories/relationships…
i wonder if there will be ANY gay love stories in this new film… prob not
Oooh, have you seen Paris je t’aime? It’s available for instant viewing online on Netflix! That being said, I’m probably gonna watch this, as I’ve fallen in love (so to speak) many a time in New York :)
i was also gonna note “paris, je t’ame’. it’s same concept–bout 11 to 15 shorts about love in paris. elijah wood, audry tatou, and a bunch of awesome american actors with bad french accents.
