My mind has been thinking about road trips lately and Nokia’s announcement today of their Booklet 3G laptop seems like a perfect fit for somebody on the road. Details are scarce at the moment, but it looks like the Booklet 3G has a super-hi-res screen for its size, built-in A-GPS, Wi-Fi, 3G, HDMI out, and an SD card reader. It also runs Windows 7 with a 12-hour battery life (I’ll believe it when I see it).
I wonder how this will get 3G. Will I be able to stick my SIM card in there and make calls from it (if so, that would be useful). Or will I have to pay separately for additional 3G service to this computer (that would be dumb)?
