Bound in a beautiful orange hardcover is this book from Twin Palms Publishers called 2 1/4. The book features some of William Eggleston’s colorful photographs taken on 2 1/4″ film between 1966 and 1971. Inside are full-page reprints of his images that evoke a sense of wonder and mystery and give you a bit of insight into the vision of a photographer that is sometimes nicknamed “the first color photographer”.

I found early inspiration for my own photos from Eggleston’s photographs so it’s very nice to see some of those images in large print in this book. I really do think Eggleston’s pioneered that mundane and mysterious sort of imagery that we often see these days and this book certainly pays good tribute to his photographic style.
