California City was an idealized American dream city incorporated in 1965. It spans over 230 miles and was the future hope of some insane real estate developer that just never came to be. The city is so big in fact that it is technically the 11th largest in the entire US, but despite its size only about 6500 people live there.
If you look below, you can see white lines which show the roads and paths that were meant to carry people to and from their homes. It’s a haunting sight that you can experience virtually in Google Street View.
This post to be honest, was kind of surprising. I am born and raised in California, never left the state and lol (yes sad haha). I have heard about California City, but I did not know that it was the 3rd largest city. The problem is that
1st. Lives right next to the desert, now Bakersfield is a has a crazy temp enough reaching past 100, which is extremely hot to me (born northern, raised southern California) I think that the temp has to be crazier than Bakersfield enough.
The temperature must be different in New York for me to be complaining about California’s temperature of 90s and 100s. Lol, thank you for the interesting post =]
