I’ve been having a pretty amazing streak of luck lately with just about everything. Tonight is another fine example of my good fortune as I somehow managed to get an entirely new keyboard from Apple free of charge despite having water-damaged my previous one. A $150+ repair was more or less gifted to me and for that I am incredibly grateful.
apple store in sydney replaced my macbook keyboard for free while I was living i australia. just because the edges had some small cracks. and I didn’t even have apple care. I actually went there to replace a battery (which they also did free of charge, since it had a minor defect) and they offered me “do you wanna replace the top case too? I can see there’re some cracks there”. and they did it in 15 minutes. that was a pretty sweet day at the apple store.
after some months of use, new cracks appeared (it seems like it’s apple’s fault, poor design), and I went there again for another reason. they’ve replaced it again. it’s easier than cleaning!
maybe you should invest in one of those covers like mine.
