
Wow, will you look at this! Curbed is reporting that the abandoned New York City public school PS90 in Harlem is being converted into condominiums by L+M Development Partners. The school grounds at 220 West 148th Street have been vacant since the 1970′s. After looking at the interior renders, it’s hard to imagine that kids used to learn here.
I don’t know how to feel about this. I don’t know the neighborhood so I don’t know if there’s something better they could have done with this than turn it into condos, but since they did go with that proposition, I wish they would have done something with slightly more inspired design. Although the modern feel of the suites would make perfect sense in a downtown loft, this building has SO MUCH to offer (from the outside pictures) and the developers could really have played off that.
