Polaroid to relaunch the Polaroid One Step Camera

After lots of hard work from The Impossible Project, Polaroid is teaming up with them to relaunch the classic Polaroid One Step Camera in the middle of 2010. In addition, this Friday, October 16th, several original Polaroid SX-70 cameras will go on sale with some original manuals and papers.

While I imagine that this is good news to some, I have a feeling that this limited edition relaunch of the Polaroid One Step camera is just a good reason for Polaroid and The Impossible Project to make the Polaroid format completely unaffordable for most people. I can pretty much bet that the relaunch of the Polaroid One Step camera is going to come with a jacked up price just for collector’s sake. I’m thinking in the $100′s. I hope I’m wrong.

Thanks for the heads up, Christian!

One Response to Polaroid to relaunch the Polaroid One Step Camera

I got my One Step on Ebay for about $12.

I’m more excited about the continued production of film by the Impossible Project than the limited edition Polaroid releases they announced. And hoping the new film won’t be priced ridiculously high.
