Funko just shared this wonderful post from Eat Cake Be Merry of a custom-made Spalding basketball cake that beats any sports-related cake I’ve ever seen.
The cake is made by Liz Shim for her husband’s 28th birthday and includes even the smallest details of a real basketball like the little dimples on the exterior of the ball. To top it off, this basketball cake even comes with a wood-grain floor. That’s awesome!

Well done, great looking cake. I’d like to make one for my sons 16th birthday. Could you tell me how you got the shape. Did you have a sports ball cake tin or can I shape it freehand?
