Owl City – Ocean Eyes

I’ve been listening to this CD all week after Christina mentioned that I should be listening to it. And she’s right. It’s catchy in every way possible (think electronic beeps and boops) and the guy’s voice (Adam Young) is tolerable. I’m not exactly sure if I can pinpoint what sort of feeling this entire album gives me, but it does make me feel happy and relaxed. And for that, I’ll keep it around.

The single that seems to be playing now on the radio is a song called “Fireflies”. It’s probably one of the least interesting tracks on the album in my opinion so don’t let it deter you from giving this artist a listen.

He’s the guy on the bonus track on the Amazon version of Forget and Not Slow Down. And tell me, is this not the weirdest interview ever? http://omaha.com/article/20091008/ENTERTAINMENT04/710089850

Oh, I LOOOOOOVE this album. The entire thing is ear candy. I looped it the entire summer and listen to “Cave In” and “Umbrella Beach” almost every morning. There’s something about the songs that’s quietly spunky and uplifting. I don’t know why people compare him to Death Cab For Cutie. Death Cab makes me want to kill myself. Maybe Death Cab For Cutie with emphasis on the “cutie”?
I think my favorite track is “The Saltwater Room.” It’s just adorable.

I first heard this album back in August and it’s one of those guilty pleasures. On the Wing is probably my favorite song , but I also too like Umbrella Beach, partially since it sounds like it could belong in a Nintendo Wii game. @Denise, people compare this guy to Death Cab, since that singer also was part of The Postal Service, which sounds very much like Owl City.
