I went to see Maroon 5 (along with Fitz and the Tantrums) at St. John’s University on Saturday and they both put on a good show. The lead singer of Fitz and the Tantrums dances really awkward but that made it really fun to watch him and his band perform.
During the intermission between Fitz and the Tantrums and Maroon 5, Adam Levine brought out a special unannounced guest to the stage which really brought the house down. The special guest turned out to be Jason Segel (you might know him from How I Met Your Mother, I Love You Man, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Knocked Up etc.) and Jason ended up playing the piano and singing a couple of songs from his recent movies (he’s actually a very talented musician and a hilarious song writer).
And then of course, after Jason left the stage, Maroon 5 took the realms and played a fantastic set with Adrian Young (the drummer of No Doubt) who was filling in for Maroon 5′s usual drummer due to a family emergency. I noticed Adrian right away and it made me so damn happy to be at the show (he’s a really great drummer if you don’t know).
Check out some images below that I took at the show.
