Review: Monsters of the Household Variety

Monsters of the Household Variety by Ruth Ashton is a very unique book in many ways. First of all, it’s gigantic in size which makes it stand out from the rest of the books it might be surrounded by. But size alone doesn’t even begin to describe this book. Inside, the pages are compromised of soft cotton sheets folded and individually stitched with character drawings and text. That’s right, STITCHED. In fact, the whole book from beginning to end is stitched which makes for an incredibly awesome experience when reading the short story.

Unfortunately, the hand-crafted nature of this book translates to an incredibly high price point. Just how much is this book? Only $1200. Nope, not a typo. That’s twelve-hundred dollars.

Final verdict: BIG and EXPENSIVE!! Better off going to your local Anthropologie and reading it there.
