The New York City Department of Health is running this PSA letting people know that drinking soda can lead to about 10 extra pounds a year. They encourage people to drink water, seltzer or low-fat milk (GROSS) rather than literally drinking fat and sugary beverages.

LOL I love ad campaigns that are very graphic and to the point… sometimes people these days NEED that.
I wonder if that factoid includes diet sodas, too – or just regular.

ugh. that really grossed me out…
what i’ve heard through different doctors and sources is that diet sodas have less sugar, yes, but convince our brains that more calories are coming because of the sweetness… so you eat more other calories.
but i drink diet soda. and i personally haven’t noticed eating more… but… oh well. i’ll go look it up when i get a chance. hahah
