
It’s been out for a while now, but Last.fm has finished publishing their 3-week Best of 2009 music list which I find to be some of the more accurate Best Of 2009 music stats that I can come across. Not only does Last.fm show you what artists made it to their top 40 list, but they also show how your own Last.fm music listening stats compared to others who scrobbled their playlists this year.
All in all, it’s a very comprehensive list which you can download all of the data for and start making some nice visualizations to go with the data (Last.fm is encouraging users to do this).
Oh, and be sure to check out the special Michael Jackson feature which shows songs by MJ scrobbled before and after his death.
As for how I feel about them picking Lady Gaga as this year’s top artist, I think the graph below gently explains my position. I successfully scrobbled ONE track from Lady Gaga — and I’m pretty sure even that one was by accident.
