I’m no Apple fanboy, but you can turn the iPad around into landscape orientation for widescreen.

    • Bill says:

Nope, it’s aspect ratio 4;3, not 16:9. It isn’t a widescreen device any which way you hold it.

    • Thomas says:

Larry, that’s “panoramic view” not widescreen. Widescreen is 16:9 while the iPad offers 4:3.

I don’t get the point of the iPad or what it is. It just looks like a giant iPhone, just more annoying to carry around. Cause it’s not a computer right? Or is it? Maybe I haven’t taken the time to really look it up. And I really don’t like the name. Maybe iTab or just something else. It makes me think of “that time of the month” or some type of home furnishing.

All we can hope is that maybe there are some upgrades to the iphone OS that allow multitasking OR perhaps it could get it’s own OS? As of now it’s just a heavy ipod.

it seems like it could be a handy tool for photographers… to like present work. my teachers are flipping out over it.

  • giles says:

Emily – the first “like” in your sentence is fine, but what is the second “like” doing there? It’s one thing to litter every spoken sentence with “like…”, but going to all the typing effort of littering the written sentence with it too is a step too far.

well at least the stone looks nice and cheap also the stone can do multitask. :-)

    *what a joke

Slot Card? It really doesn’t surprise me you prefer the stone!
Cam? Buy a camera, man! Take a look to the iPad size! It was not made for that!

  • canuck says:

I don’t know why the graphic claims that the stone is from 40,000 BC.

The Rosetta Stone (which is what is pictured) was engraved in about 196 BC (see the British Museum page: http://www.britishmuseum.org/explore/highlights/highlight_objects/aes/t/the_rosetta_stone.aspx)

This is one stone that is anything but cheap.

Okat, this is exactly what I meant: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsjU0K8QPhs
I didn’t even know about this.

  • helmischelmi says:

Stones are available in widescreen ;-)

You can get stones in very big sizes and it is possible to reduce them to your pfrefered size.

Unlimited esteem to the freak who conceived this comparison picture. It makes me laugh thinking that human beings always struggle to fix and share their life and experience in a manner beyond speech – even if I guess one’s iPad won’t last as long as a marble stone!
