According to Hammacher Schlemmer, this blanket will deter dogs from jumping onto the couch because the outside material, which mimics aluminum foil, is uncomfortable for dogs and also mimics a sound that is unpleasant for them to hear. I’m really curious to see if this works. [via]

haha! there’s a Hammacher Schlemmer down the block from me. i almost wanna get it just to bring it home and watch it NOT work.
I’ve heard that using the spiky underside of the mats used to roll computer chairs on carpet work well for this too.
